Punch Lines: 150 Years of Humorous Writing in Punch by Amanda-Jane Doran

For 150 years Punch has been a source of humorous reading. This volume, part of the 150th anniversary celebrations, contains some of the best articles from Punch magazine.

From George and Weedon Grossmith's "Diary of a Nobody" via Sellar and Yeatman's "1066 and All That" to Miles Kington's "The Franglais Lieutenant's Woman" the classic comic writers are widely represented.

There are also short stories by P.G. Wodehouse, Graham Greene and Muriel Spark.

Ronald Searle illustrates "Molesworth and the Battle of Britain", James Thurber, Jeffrey Bernard, Alan Coren, Michael Parkinson, Barry Humphries, Clement Freud and Keith Waterhouse all display their writing talents.

Also included are vintage pieces by writers such as Noel Coward, John Steinbeck, Basil Boothroyd and Auberon Waugh.
