Total XS by Rhett Hutchence

Rhett Hutchence, the younger brother of rock superstar Michael Hutchence, tells of the early days of INXS, from being 'discovered' to their tours around the word and string of hit albums.

Rhett Hutchence has lived the life of a rock star - a life of sex, drugs, and rock'n'roll, but he isn't a rock star like his brother and best friend Michael Hutchence, frontman for INXS.

At the age of 12, Rhett, crying and begging his mother to take him with her and Michael to Hong Kong, is left behind in Australia to live with his father. Four years later Rhett and Michael reunite by which time they are living in different worlds. Michael has begun his journey to becoming one of the most famous rock stars in the world and Rhett is addicted to drugs and headed towards self destruction. As Michael becomes more famous, Rhett's addiction to drugs worsens. However, through all of the turmoil over the years the two brothers maintained a closeness that was to last until Michael's shocking death - a death that still holds no answeres for Rhett and for those that loved him.

In Total XS Rhett describes what it was like to live in the shadow of his famous brother Michael and gives us an insight into what Michael was like to those who were closest to him.

This is a compelling and honest account of Rhett's life and his life with Michael and the tumultuous journey they shared together.
